Greene Recommends Using an Omron Pedometer to Track Steps Daily
BANNOCKBURN, Ill. – April 27, 2011 – Bob Greene – Oprah Winfrey’s personal trainer and author of the new book 20 Years Younger: Look Younger, Feel Younger, Be Younger – is teaming up with Omron Healthcare, Inc. to encourage Americans to walk everyday to improve their overall health and feel better.
According to a report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) only 35 percent of adults over the age of 18 engage in regular leisure-time physical activity. In 20 Years Younger Greene suggests walking as an easy cardio activity and recommends working up to a goal of 10,000 steps per day. Research shows that using a pedometer can increase physical activity by about 2,000 steps – or an extra mile – each day, demonstrating that the Omron pedometer is a great motivational tool that can push you to go further and reach your goals.
“Walking is my favorite exercise because so many people can do it and its benefits are so diverse,” says Greene. “I recommend tracking your steps daily with an Omron pedometer because they are very accurate and easy to use. Omron pedometers are really a walking partner you can count on to motivate you and remind you to keep going.”
“Bob Greene is one of the leading fitness and wellness experts in America and we are thrilled to work with him,” said Ranndy Kellogg, Omron vice president of marketing and product development. “It’s a natural partnership for us as we share the same passion to get Americans walking.”
Omron pedometers are available online and at sporting goods retailers throughout the United States. Learn more about Omron Pedometers. Like Omron Healthcare on Facebook or follow on Twitter.
